6618 would require every public and private school to employ at least one licensed mental health counselor. Mental health counselors may, as appropriate, observe classrooms upon request by a teacher or student. Teachers or students may make this request anonymously.

This bill aims to allow students reasonable access to a mental health counselor as needed and to increase their visibility and encourage communication between students and mental health counselors.
