This bill will increase the funding authorizatioin levels for the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) programs enacted in 2016. The bill will authorize $300 million to expand evidence-based medication-assisted treatment and $200 million for recovery support services. Additionally, the bill will establish a National Commission for Excellence in Post-Overdose Response to improve quality of care for drug overdoses and substance use disorders.
