This bill would repeal RCW 74.12.037, means testing for kinship child only Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
House Floor Amendment:
HB 2121 was amended on the House floor prior to passage and as amended does the following: Increases the income-eligibility requirements for nonparental caregivers receiving child-only Temporary Assistance for Needy Families grants from 300 percent to 400 percent of the federal poverty level.
Striker Amendment in Senate Ways & Means:
Eliminates means testing for nonparental caregivers for the purposes of determining eligibility for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
