Partners for Our Children is pleased to announce the release of Version 1.0 of the Washington State Child Well-Being Data Portal.
With the release of the Data Portal, a collaboration with the Department of Social and Health Services, Washington State will have its first public source for up-to-date information on Washington's child welfare system. POC hopes this new technology will bring together the thousands of people who work to serve disadvantaged families with common data, promoting better understanding of the issues they face, making it easier to access needed data, and fueling improvement of our child welfare system.
The Data Portal provides a place for users to learn about topics such as kinship care, family reunification, guardianship, and more. It allows users to create their own customized data queries using filters such as time period, race/ethnicity, and location. POC predicts that the Data Portal will help drive improvements in the child welfare system by eliminating technological barriers, broadening the discussion about data to new audiences, and focusing attention on meaningful outcomes.
